Struggles Overly-Competitive People Will Have Experienced At Least Once
Being overly-competitive has often been associated with negative connotations in our society, becoming in some ways synonymous with greed or envy. Overall, competition may not always be as healthy as it should be, but I believe it has a strong influence in pushing people to take on new, challenging opportunities and achieving success in doing so.
1. Total stranger? Even better!
To all those unaware people who simply
carry on with their daily routines, I sincerely apologise! As weird as it might
sound, competing with total strangers who don’t know they are in competition
with you is rather rewarding. Don’t lie: I know you started walking faster and
speeding up at least once when someone walking on the same sidewalk as
you tried to pass by!
2. This is not just any competition
You might seem calm and extremely relaxed,
but us competitive people know exactly that’s not the case! The truth is, that
whenever you find yourself in any kind of competition, your mind, body and soul
will treat it as a life or death situation.
3. Goal digger
Whether you are training for a half-marathon
or cooking apple muffins for your flatmate, you will always be 100% committed to
your tasks, whatever goal it is you are trying to achieve.
4. What happens in family stays in family
I am sure some biology is involved here as
I am aware of being ridiculously competitive (my friends have started to warn people
about it whenever we are playing games with strangers) but I’m not even the
most competitive in my family- and trust me, you don’t want to go there!
Calling all competitive people: have you ever experienced any of the behaviours in the BuzzFeed video? Number 7 is quite accurate for me!
